REIGNING girls champion University of Santo Tomas booked one of two remaining Final Four slots as Cheng Dadang and Angelica Del Mar overcame a tough second set stand by Adamson's Ella Gonzalvo and Maegan Pineda, 21-10, 23-21, Sunday in the UAAP high school beach volleyball tournament at Sands SM By The Bay.

National University Nazareth School became the solo leader as the pair of Vilmarie Toos and Faith Mangyao subdued Far Eastern University-Diliman's Sheena Cafe and Sheena Pascual, 21-17, 21-14, to raise its perfect record to 4-0.

The three-peat seeking Tiger Sands improved to 3-1 to rebound from last Saturday's loss to the Bullpups, tying the Baby Tamaraws in second place.

UP Integrated School secured its first-ever girls beach volleyball victory as Janella Guarino and rookie Anya Capus outlasted La Salle-Zobel's Aislinn Alemaña and Kylie Celada, 21-15, 21-16.

The Junior Fighting Maroons and the Baby Falcons are now tied in fourth place at 1-3. UPIS and Adamson dispute the remaining Final Four on Friday morning.

Celada replaced Sabine Valdez prior to the match, but it was not enough for the Junior Lady Spikers to avoid a fourth consecutive loss.

In the eight-team boys division, UST extended its unbeaten run to four matches and moved closer in securing a place in the Final Four as Michael Lagaran and Lance Malinao overwhelmed UPIS' Terren Villanueva and Marcus Bamba, 21-4, 21-5.

Holders NUNS stretched its winning streak to three after dropping its opener as Wayne Dionela and Kian Tan needed only 25 minutes to beat La Salle-Zobel's Antonio Papa and Mario Roxas, 21-7, 21-11.

Adamson's Brice Malinao and Gian Ygot topped University of the East's Clarence Gianan and Buenaventura Limpin, 21-10, 21-15, in the morning session.

The Bullpups and the Baby Falcons are joint second at 3-1.

FEU-D regained its winning ways as Zedrick Calimlim and Sam Coronel pulled off a 21-7, 21-5 romp of Ateneo's Ken Nicolas and Santiago Avila in the match lasted for only 26 minutes.

The Baby Tamaraws and the Junior Green Spikers are level at 2-2.

La Salle-Zobel split its two matches after a Saturday off as Papa and Roxas bested Ateneo's Nicolas and Avila, 21-15, 21-16, in the morning.

The Junior Warriors and the Junior Fighting Maroons are now at 1-3.
