CANDON CITY — Harbor Pilot's Ranran Abdilla and Rancel Varga downed NU's Pol Salvador and Alex Iraya, 21-13, 21-10, to complete a perfect 5-0 campaign in the men's division of the Beach Volleyball Republic on Tour Candon City leg Sunday at Darapidap Beach here.
The duo has not dropped a set in the first leg, as Abdilla followed up his bronze medal in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games bronze medal by capturing a fifth BVR on Tour title.
Varga, for his part, earned his third gold in the tour backed by Sunplay, Pocari Sweat, Converge and the City Government of Candon.
In the final day, Abdilla and Varga topped Dragon Pay Cagayan's Pemie Bagalay and Reiven Valera, 21-16, 21-12, and Milktea Network's Chye Tan and Alex Ramos, 21-15, 21-13.
Abdilla and Ramos also defeated Salvador and Iraya on opening day right after besting Candon 1's Jimboy Gambito and Ralph Perdon.
Milktea Network placed third, highlighted by a stunning 16-21, 23-21, 15-12 win over DLSU's Vince Maglinao and Andre Espejo.
Ateneo's Jian Salarzon and Amil Pacinio settled for fourth spot after bowing to NU's Salvador and Iraya, 18-21, 17-21.
