ADAMSON and Far Eastern University-Diliman completed the boys Final Four cast of the UAAP high school beach volleyball tournament Saturday at the Sands SM By The Bay.
The Baby Tamaraws and Baby Falcons ensured they would not leave empty-handed, earning wins on the same day to book their spots in the semis.
FEU-D's Zedrick Calimlim and Sam Coronel defeated University of the East's Clarence Gianan and Buenaventura Limpin 21-9, 21-11, while Adamson's Brice Malinao and Gian Ygot downed Ateneo's Santiago Avila and Kevin Gabia 21-8, 21-9.
. The Baby Tamaraws will have a tough task as they drew the undefeated pair of JM Lagaran and Lance Malinao from University of Santo Tomas at 7 a.m. Sunday.
The Tiger Sands finished the eliminations with an impressive seven-match sweep with wins over La Salle-Zobel's Mario Roxas and Antonio Papa with a score of 21-5, 21-9 before they capped off their perfect run with a convincing 21-15, 21-12 victory against Adamson.
On the other hand, the Baby Falcons will take on National University Nazareth School in the other semifinals pairing.
The back-to-back title-seeking Bullpups secured the second spot in the top four after defeating the Baby Tamaraws 21-14, 21-8.
The winners of these two matches will meet in the finals scheduled for later that same day, while the losing teams will compete for the bronze medal.
La Salle-Zobel finished its season in fifth place with a record of 3-4 after pulling off a come from behind to win against UE, 11-21, 23-21, 15-10.
The UP Integrated School duo of Terren Villanueva and Marcus Bamba swept Ateneo, 21-10, 21-18, ending their season with a 2-5 record and a sixth-place finish.
The Junior Warriors ended their season in seventh place with a 1-6 record, while the Blue Eagles finished at the bottom in eighth place with a 0-7 record.
